Heron's gift to me was the realization of the importance of aggressive self determination and self reliance. The heron feather painted into this scene is a symbol of my desire to activate in my life, those qualities which I see represented by the Heron. Herons spend many hours waiting and watching, but when they see what they want, they go for it. This particular Heron at the Reifel Bird Sanctuary in Ladner was enjoying a fish as the reward for her patience.
